I dont post much usually just do some research on this site. Thing is last night on ebay i see a 05 tl in sellers right up he says clean & clear title. paint never been alt. etc. mech sound.. says can buy for 7900.00 yes 7900.00. So I email him direct he respnds that is correct price and would prefer to do sale through ebay. Which to my knowledge protects both parties. I first thought to good to be true. I put that in email.. but he responds with same price. I still cant believe it. Just wanted some thought on it. Hopefully someone has some ebay knowledge.

 

NO WAY! It's probably a scam. I just checked on ebay and can't find the car that you are talking about. It may have been removed by ebay at this point. I checked the completed auctions as well and there is no trace of a 05 TL for $7900. You'd be lucky to find a 99 for $7900!

 

I agree. The listing was pulled after he emialed me back.. I dont if he did that because we are talking a deal or if was a scam.. I not very ebay literate

 

Did he mention payment options? If he said western union or any money order for payment, definately a scam. Even if you go through Ebay for the sale and not use paypal, Ebay wont protect you.

I had run into a similiar scam with Pioneers Avic's (N1,N2,N3) for 500 USD, but needed a payment through Western Union. Yeah right!!!!

And now that the listing is gone....it was too good to be true

There is also a scam if you are selling a car on ebay. I had a person buy my car w/ "Buy It Now" and wanted me to accept a cashiers check made out to $400 more than the car value. However I was to mail the $400 as soon as I deposited the check. It was obvious that a bad cashiers check was likely, and was confirmed by ebay as a scam. They allowed me to relist to avoid this problem, and there were other scammers emailing me to "cut a deal". Ebay is wonderful, but you have to be a bit careful these days.
