solution to removing resonator completely

got bored today and wondered what it would be like to have my resonator off completely. i have an 03 tl-s, i took it off and it just sounded too hgh pitched. SOoooo i took a1.5 inch drill bit and put about 6 holes into it. it now does get more air but not so much that it sounds civic like.

and you drilled into a stock part of your car.... most of us just pull it out so if we want to sell the car later on, it can be returned to stock form. But to each is own..

Plus I don't think it sounds civic like.IMO

what are you talking about high pitched. they dont make that noise with the resonator off. they do make a hissins/sucking noise for a little bit but it goes away when warm

well my tl-s did make a high Vrooommmmm sound not a good sound at all, it sounded like the car was going to explode. And if i do sellthe car, no one will be able to notice the sound difference unless they heard it before, it just has a sweet but quiet sucking sound. And im sure that a resonator is very cheapp for my car if I were forced to buy a new one.

Ummm...........how is this a solution? Drilling holes in the resonator is a lot harder then removing it. I guess you can buy a new resonator box but it's $37-40. Seems like a waste of cash for nothing.

i agreee. drilling holes in it isnt going to help any thing and there is no sound. thats the main reason people remove the resonator, the cool sound

I think the noise with the resonator off is not high pitched at all.

I think someone here is smoking some goooooood chronic!!!

just kiddin guys. Ya I personally think that the car has the sweeeeeeeeetest sound without the intake resonator. I have a smile from ear to ear everytime I launch the car. It has such a deep, yet "mean" sound to it...gotta love VTEC!!!

j/k boyz...there's defintely something not right if yours make a high pitched sound. I must say that the sound from outside the car when you're sitting on the side of the road, and I rip the car, damnit it sounds like a miniature muscle car!!!
