SoCal TLers
Hey anyone here from inlands or orange? Where do u guys get your mods done? Ive been lookin for a place i can trust my tl with. btw, which ones do you guys think is better? HR springs or tein ones? I'm also researchin shocks and struts but dont know where to begin. Anyone from socal IM me at xempaodarkness.
Hey, you from Irvine? I'm from Huntington Beach. I goto UCI...i had H&R's then i recently switced to teins
We can meet sometime and i'll show you my TL-S if you want.
My Opinion:
H&R Sport Springs with Stock Shocks - I really like them, you get really really good handling, the only bottleneck is the stock tires...but you can turn with these babies. The ride will suffer just a tade...the ride will be more "hard", but not harsh. You will feel bumps and potholes in the road. The fender gap is reduced to about 1-2 finger width.
Teins. After i got them on, you have to break them in and keep the setting on 8 out of 16. Setting 8 is about stock setup...it's smooth as stock but handling is a bit worse then stock. It's because the teins spring rates are low, i think you have an option of upgrading to higher spring rates for an extra cost. I changed the setting to 10 front/8 rear..and it's a big difference. But the handling doesn't seem to match the H&R..so i switch to 11/9 front/rear...it closely matches the H&R now, but the ride is a bit harsher. But i guess it all depends on how low/high you adjust ur teins, i have might a bit lower then the H&R.
My recommendation. If you have the money and you want to choose ur ride height, then go with teins...but if you don't really car about ride height, i would buy H&R and spend the rest of the money on other stuff...headers, intake, exhuaust, pulley.

(I don't mind paying, I just think the park rangers might have a problem with us meeting there)
i live in upland (san bernindino county), ummm, CNC in ontario is pretty good. Their prices aren't bad. They can get anything basically UMmmm, got audio sounds? in upland is pretty cool They were willing to give me RH c5's 19's x 8 with tires for 2000 dollars which is pretty good. There's a lot of shops in Rowland heights. Sparks was pretty good, they moved though (dunno where). O Ya, for exhausts, there's this place in Upland called Muffler city, the guy there charges really reasonable, he can get magnaflows and comptechs and stuff.
Dynamics charged $150..that's pretty darn good for OC. I must have called 30+ shops/dealers...most of them either wouldn't do it, or would charge $300-500. I did'nt get mine installed at dynamics because there was a 3 week waitlist. I drove to pasadena/san gabriel to GT motorsports recommended by other TL owners.
