HP isn't everything. The gearing, redline, weight, and mileage come into play as well.

Why are you surprised? Older Hondas were overrated I believe for engine power, that's why the 3G TL went from being rated at 270 hp to 258 hp without any engine changes. Just a guess but the corrected rating for a 2G TL-S would probably be around 248 horsepower. Plus from my experience the 3-series has pretty short gearing at least in the lower gears.... I still remember the very first time I drove a manual E46, I kept it in 1st for a while and redline came up quicker than it did in my Integra. Not to mention that throughout the years I think the 3-series have been lighter than the TLs.

Face it, she's just a better driver than you.

Sounds about right. A stock TLS does 1/4 in the high 14s on a good day, no?

328i does it mid to high 14s.

Oh and the car is underrated.

The rating change was due to the new SAE industry standards. Honda adopted the new standards quickly along with a few other manufacturers, while others did not. Credit is due to Honda.

For someone who boasts about having driven x number of cars, joins discussions on automotive industry this-and-that in the Car Talk section, you need to study a little more.
