So it finally happened...
Well, I was on my way home on Sunday night when a deer jumped onto the exit off-ramp just as I took the exit. I swerved to miss the deer, and succeeded, but I didn't miss the bushes and trees located in the island next to the off-ramp. I am actually really lucky to not have any injuries except for like 3 scratches on my hands, being that all of my windows were down. Most the damage happened to the passenger side of the car. Honda engineering definitely saved me from a much worse situation!
On a side note, I took this pic of my taillight with my silverstar turn signal bulb, I thought it looked pretty cool:
Of course, this had to happen a less than a week after I put on my Comptech Axlebacks, so you may be seeing that and some other things in the Black Market soon.
I still don't know if it's going to be totaled, and if it is, I don't yet know what I'll be getting next, but I hope to come back to the AcuraZine family. I'll keep you posted. It was an awesome ride while it lasted!

Ouch! At least you're OK. That the important thing.
That would be a very expensive repair. It may very well be totaled. What year TL and how many miles do you have on it?
Were you able to drive it?

you should be okay. i don't think they will total it. I had a simial accident with no frame damage but massive damage to the right side. It ended up costing around 7.5k I'm sorry that this happened to you, but you're safe and I doubt it will be totaled.
Good luck buddy.

If you really want to keep the car, let your insurance company know that and they will sometimes work with you.
I once had a car that would have been totaled if it was rebuilt with all new body panels. But I approved the use of used body parts and that allowed for a complete repair. That worked out great since the KBB value for the car was really low even though the car was in really nice shape.

I had damage down the entire right side of my car just like yours back in July but it was much more significant and mine didn't get totaled. Granted the TSX might be worth more, I doubt they will total it. Keep us updated. It doesn't look like a difficult fix.

If the repair cost and the settlement value are close you can also ask if you could pay the difference to keep the car.
You might also want to see if you could work out a deal to keep the car in its current damaged condition. You could offer them whatever they would get for it from a salvage yard. You could then see if you could find another body shop that could repair it for less. That might not be an option but it wouldn't hurt to ask. Remember that it's still your car and not the insurance company's.

wow im amazed they would total it. i mean a good body shop would be able to pull all the dents out and just need to replace the fender. All the dents can be pulled. but yeah i guess i could see them totalling it based upon kbb and the air bag. that sucks man well i hope to see you back in an acura of some sort. great to see that you are ok.
