So a drunk hit my car...

Well a drunk driver hit my car while it was parked and switched cars a took off. What had happen was he hit it, stopped and started moving again causing more damage. Then he got out and apparently his mom was there and jumped into her car and drove off to the other of the parking lot. I told his mother i want him here with his license insurance and car registration or im calling the cops. She said she didnt have all her paper work and would pay cash right away. I told her i need all her papers or im calling cops and i want the original driver ( her son) back here. She says i can give you 400. I said thats barley gonna cover my wheel if i can find a replacement since they are discontinued. I said my door is gonna cost me ALOT more. He hit my door, quarter panel and my front wheel. I also noticed it knocked out my alignment. Long story short she said shes gonna grab her paperwork ( i had a feeling she would run off) and she just drove off. I called cops and turn out the car that hit me was registered in palmdale ca last, 4-500 miles away and is currently not registered. The other veh was a local registered car. Sad thing is even know i told the 911 rep the driver was drunk it took them more than a hour to show up. Just had to vent. Ill post pics tomorrow. Makes me wanna sell my car and drive a corolla around so i could care less who hits it.

Apparently you also have an 06 750Li, just be glad the dude didn't hit that. Shame on the cops for not coming to you sooner. I've a very similar incident happen to me on New Years of this year. Not much you can do in terms of compensation other than really pushing for the dude to pay up, his mom included since he probably can't afford it.

no doubt- there was no insurance!!
hope you got all the license info of car and any other info on drivers
mom knows the problem and covered for her unlicensed/suspended/ illegal immigrant? son!
As soon as driver bolted, it was time for 911 = hit and run = FELONY

If you have uninsured motorist coverage--thats part of full coverage (and worth having in Ca.)
that will cover your cars damage

with the loss of many Officers in harmz town, its amazing they showed up at all
No one was shot? they got 3 real shootings to attend to!!!
report a Drunk driver ON the road,,they try and get there but,,,

for others in similar event: grab your phone and get pics of cars-license plates- drivers, damage, road conditions,,anything you can,,take a pic of

If some drunk D-bag plows into my car I'd be flying out there with the 2 P's in hand.. Phone and pistol. If a gun is involved cops will be around stat.

At least you got the person who hit you, I had to come out of class one day and I found a dent in my trunk! I spent 2 days looking for the truck that did that but never found the guy and he never left a note.

Sucks to hear. Hopefully cop/your insurance company catches up to them, but karma works just as well. Should have just called right from the beginning since the person fled the scene of a crime, let alone hit and run. And from experience, unless someone is injured, they won't come right away. Friends house was broken into and had his gun stolen as well, we ended up waiting 3 hours for someone to come by. Girl got hit by a car near my house, 2 police cars were there within minutes.

I still live in stockton
Just work in modesto but yeah i got full coverage. Im not worried about insurance since i know my coverage is very good and will get it fixed without any issue but just the fact how stupid people are. I have having a nice car to drive since i have to worry about someone hitting my car. I try to park as far as i can from others but there always is that one asshole who decides to park by you and screws it all up.
