Question Small Headlight Mod

Hey guys,

I just realized something, when you push the panic button on the remote, as soon as the alarm goes off, the HID's start to flash.

Well I was thinking, is it possible to have the HID's flash instead of the orange corner lights?

I don't think this will be such a hard mod to do, it probably requires swithing a few wires around or something, so does anyone have any idea on how this is done?

X3, HID bulbs do not like to flash on and off. When you leave your lights on and unlock the car, the lights turn on... I hate how they turn off so quickly.

so you're saying to rewire it for the corners to blink when the alarm goes off? so what if you do do that and when you press the lock/unlock button, does that make the headlights turn on and off cause the corners do that for you on the stock alarm

say what?

all I'm saying is that when you hit the unlock button on the remote, instead of the corner lights flashing, the HID's will flash

but I guess thats not such a good idea since people are saying that HID's dont like to be flashed that often...

oh my bad i guess i was tripping at the time (probably read wrong). i see what you're saying now, but yeah you don't want to keep flashing your HIDs that much, it'll hurt them.

you should turn your lights on, then lock the car and let them time out. then you should set your alarm off.

i think when thsi happened, the headlights came on but did not flash...may want to check

Wouldn't do it...bad for the HID's unless you have the cash to buy the bulds each time it burns out.

The electrics required to charge and ignite the HIDs is immense and not something to be flashed on and off- thats why they need a ballast and capacitor to operate

See those bright yellowish lights in parking lots and streets- guess what kind of lights they are.
IN general for those- if turned off- must wait 15 minutes to restart!
