Silicon wiper blades worth it?

i've read all the old posts on these blades specifially the ones by Silblade, but i'm still not sure about paying 40 bucks US a pair (that's 500 million Cdn for me). for those who have them and have used them for a while (a year or more), how are they holding up? there are also teflon blades that cost a little bit more than regular blades and they are marketed to be longer lasting with better performance over conventional blades. anyone use those?

I have PIAA silicone wipers on my integra and they held up beautifully for almost a year. They are still smooth and quiet. Definately recommend it. Im not sure how it would hold up against snow since Im in TX.

why dont you just use that oil thing you wipe onyour windshield that spreads the water. a lot cheaper and it works like a charm. I hardly use my wipers anymore because of it.

Ive had the Silblades for 11 months now. Work great in all temperatures and don't streak when its raining. Don't know if they will last 5 years like it says but since they are under warranty, who cares lol.

so is it $19 (or $22 for the ultra silblade) and that includes shipping? i'm thinking ppl from canada would have to pay an additional shipping cost. so if they start streaking within 5yrs, you can mail the wipers back to them n they'll send you a pair of new ones?!?

The Silblades are worth every penny. The difference is like night and day compared to the original rubber blades. They deform less in cold weather.

I hate having to replace the Rain-X periodically (when I was using it, I replaced it monthly to maintain the effect), so the Silblades do me just fine.

so where do you get these siliblades??? I need new wipers... like now! I hate these damned stock ones. Also - my stock wipers make a thud noise when they extend all the way... I hate it, does changing the wiper blades eliminate the noise??? Thanx,

Ryan
