Should I be concerned?!

Last night after driving for about thirty minutes normal or well, rather slow driving due to the monsoon-like thunderstorm that blew up yesterday, i came home and backed into the garage and got out and stood around with my dad watching the storm from the garage. then about 2 minutes later i hear this rather loud humming noise. my first thought is tornado (train noise) but then i realize its my car. i pop the hood and its the cooling fan on the drivers side (trans cooling fan im guessing?) and its just running. car is completely off keys in hand, and the car temp was a tad below running normal. This has never happened before. it ran for about 8 minutes and shut off. and if i put the key in and turned to on it stopped but as soon as i turned the key back it started back up...... so, should i be concerned at all?

You know we have a search tool?

Check coolant level (when engine is cold) and radiator fan switch to see if it's faulty

driver side fan is cooling fan and normal to run a few minutes after shutdown as engine temp rises

after a good soaking with that wet drive, the sendor unit- pass side lower radiator corner- may have had wet wires or may be failing itself- when it will not run at all --- or will run for hours
