Shock/Spring Installation

I just received Tein SS and EDFC unit, and it'll be installed tomorrow. Is there anything that I need to look out for? It'll be installed at Garage Kwai. After hearing their reputations, I don't think I should be worring, but just in case.

Also I would like to know what kind of settings (from 0 to 16) are you running for highway, in-town, and auto cross/agressive driving?

Thanks

You beat me to it...

I have the same on order. Where did you have you control unit mounted? Did the shop describe where or how they were going to route the cables for the EDFC. I fear I'll have to remove the carpet to get the front cables from the front to the center console under the car and through the pan, under the carpet, and into the center console for mounting. That's the plan! I'd also be interested in the settings you get.

Only thing should look out for is that to secure in the nut, that they hand torque it and not use a air gun.

Recommended setting is on 8 for first 2 weeks, and after the break in period you can change it to whatever u want. I usually leave it on 12.

I haven't installed yet, but in few hours it will be installed. So when it's done, I'll post an another thread.

04AcuraTL6speed:

How is the ride on 12? That's fairly soft ride isn't it (stiff (0) to soft (12))? I'm geussing 8 is somewhat neutral, meaning somewhat close to the stock feel?

Thanks

I just moved down to Orlando from Nashville and I haven't ever heard of that garage! But if you've heard good things then go for it. There is a guy named Kee in Murfreesboro on the corner of Rutherford Blvd. and Church St. next to Krystals and he does awesome work for imports. Just don't go to Top End out there... my friends used to manage the joint so I know the dirty on them.
Let me know how the install and ride goes because I'm interested in getting the same setup for my rig.

Where did the EDFC get installed? Do you know if the front cables were routed through the firewall or under the car? There aren't too many grommets in the firewall to get them through. Very interrested! I should be installing mine next week. Still waiting for the damn things to come in. Did you get an alignment yet? Are you going too? I'm jealous of your new experience. I can't wait to get mine in. Have fun and don't wreck!

I've installed EDFC unit in the center console by removing coin holder. The front cable was routed directly to the inside of the car by finding a whole in firewall. For the rear, cable is hidden by door sills, so you can't see any wires running. As for the alingment, I'll get it done tomorrow since I have to drive back to TN from IL this weekend. It doesn't look like I need to get a camber kit, but I'll let you know tomorrow with pic of EDFC unit in center console.

njtls:

I'll post few pics tomorrow. I dropped 1.5" in front and 1" in back compared to stock ride height.

vsop TL-S:

To sum it up in one sentence the ride is soomth yet it gives you better feel of the road. I'll drive around tomorrow and let you know more if possible.

Sorry for the late reply. Yes, 8 will give u ride very similar to stock. 12 is more to the stiff side. I have H&R Sports on before, and switching to Teins, i have to have it on 12 to get the similar feel of H&R that i'm use to
