Shift Plate Backlight
Are you referring to where the gear shifter is??? My P, R, N, D5, D4, D3, D2<>1 all light up...so if that's what you're referring too, then yes there definitely should be a light illuminated behind it.
As for what type of bulb, that I have no idea...

if you unscrew your shifter knob (turn hard counterclockwuse) then pop the plastic trim ring off around the light grey gate part, then pop the gate plate off (all just snap on off) you will then be able to pull straight up on the little cover with the selector #s on it. you will then have access to the bulb
my P R N etc doesn`t light up =( but one night i turned on the seat heater and i looked down i saw red and green, it looked so pretty. then it finally came to me that the lights on the shifter that never illuminated is now illuminated. and when i got home it went off again -____- and i found a way to have it go back on, i have to hit it -_________- ;; so it comes on sometimes, or when i hit it, so i`m guessing the bulbs are fine. what is the problem here now? loose wiring?
