Selling My TL

After 5 great years and 99000 miles i'm finally selling my TL. I was wondering what is the best way to sell a car. What website should i use? I also was wondering if its worth taking all the after market eqiupment off rims, exhaust, coilovers........ or just try to sell it as is. Will i lose resale value for a car that has too much after market equipment on it or will it raise the resale value? If anyone can give me some advice i will truly appereciate it. Thank you

i'm sure it'll up the resale value, it shouldn't hurt it....i say try and sell it locally, or through ebay or something....locally is always better........you COULD part it out, but it's not really a junky car, a 5 yr old TL with aftermarket shit, is still a pimp azz ride....i'd find out who'd want to buy it locally. -shawn

Its only upping the resale value if you sell it to people our age. I would take it all off in case you got a bunch of older people calling for the car cause they will want it stock. What I did was make my Aftermarket parts an option...if you want it you can pay extra.

it will lower your resale value, unless like mentioned above, you can find a young person who understands the deal behind the aftermarket parts.

Just write it up with a marker on your windows....if you cant get what you want, then try an Auction......or even a trade-in.

good luck.

dealership will decrease like 1000 to the blue book value per mod!! you gotta either sell privately OR work it back to stock...anyways, selling it privatelly get you more $$, EVEN if you deduct $2000-3000 from what you want, you'll sell faster and still get more than the dealership.

peace.

try posting online. OR try ebay.

You could do that, or just make a point of selling it separately. Depending on the parts, you may get a descent amount of money for them.

use autotrader.com that will get you the most hits

I would part it out for sure. The general impression of the public on modded cars, is that they have been driven hard, when in reality it is ususally the opposite since modded cars tend to be their owners babies as you know. What are you getting?

Definitely part it out. A CT exhaust is worth $300+ on the blackmarket here, but will add NO value ot the average buyer.

My boy had a a4. He hooked the car to the maxx. He took it to unquie auto sports here in nassua county and dropped 10 grand. Custom fiber glass kit wit 4 type r subs, tv's indash, headrests, sunvisors. and one in the trunk. Custom interior fabrications (s4). He had it for one year and then decided to get a bmw 330xi white. He told couple of my friends that he only wants 10, 000 $ for it. So the 2 kids put it on autotrader.com and listed it for 15 grand, its a 99 a4 wit 80grand milage on it. With the tv's all in it everything custom his friends sold it for 13,000. So they gave the owenr 10 gran dlike he wanted and the kid got 3 grand outta it. He first bought the a4 for 25,000 cash. dumped 10 grand in it, and sold it for 10 grand. the bluebook listed it for 15, grand. Moding your car that excessivly only apeals to kids our age. The tv.s ,custom trunk. etc means shit to older people but NO TRUNK SPACE FOR GROCERYS,.
