My salesperson advised me not to get the 3M clear bra. First, he said you will get some discoloration in the paint. Secondly, it does not really protect your car from the larger rocks. It will prevent those little scratches you get from little rocks when going at high speeds but it will not protector you car from dents coming from larger rocks.

I personally don't think its worth it. It does protect from small rocks but the vibrations from the car will damage the paint under the bra. Plus i don't think bras look that great.

Hi,

I just bought a nose mask for my TLS from autocarparts.com. The nose mask will be used purely for my occasional trips to NYC. One of my friend showed me the damages little pebbles can do to your car on highway runs. The damages looked pretty bad. After putting on the nose mask it looked pretty cool...I kinda like it. My dealer was gonna order me one for $163+tax. Got it from autocarparts.com for $141 total includes s/h. Got it within a few days...great service.

Moo.

Smile See-through v. Invisible

See-through bra sounds sexier than invisible bra

Do you know how much it costs to put it on ?

For you or the car (j/k)?
Seriously though, I heard that the paint under the bra will mess up after a while. So be careful if you do put one on. Just make sure you clean it every few months to keep the paint new.

I also think that the paint could look slightly different.

There is so much protection you can get.

Have you heard of Clear bra? It's what most of us on the Audi board use. It's quite expensive, but worth the investment on your vehicle! Trust me! Just ignore the handle...I mean it towards ITRs and suck. I actually dig the new Type Ss.

Hey Jeff n Boston, don't believe everthing a sales person says. I've had 3M Clear bra on several cars & it works great. I had a rock tear a large rip in the front q-panel & it didn't do a thing to the paint or clear coat underneath. The dealer that put in on for me, reolaced that piece free of charge. Check out my sig & go look at pics on my album site. Also, do a search on the subject. Lots of good posts about 3M Clear Bra!

I'm in total agreement with Lrpba300. The clear bra is probably one of the best investments a person can make for their car. I'll be getting my installed sometime next week, and may have to drive down to Xpel headquarters in San Antonio to get it, since they are unable to make a kit for the TL-S due to their inability to get a TL-S in their shop (TL-S is selling like hotcakes).

Has any of you had to have the front-end repainted recently, or headlight replaced due to sand/rock damage? If you haven't, you are in for a very rude awakening when you see your bill. Secondly, how many of you cringe when driving behind those big 8-wheeler trucks or any other vehicle throwing rocks at the front-end of your TL-S? And, let's not forget about the bugs causing damage to your front-end paint job as well. Trust me, the clear bra is worth every cent, and I wish I would have purchased it for my Prelude, as the front-end needs repainting, as well as new headlights, due to my living in Colorado Springs Colorado.

Yes, I do have one of those ugly nose bras for my Prelude, but it is a b**ch to put on and clean. And, all of the sand and rocks just gets underneath it anyway, and damages my paint.

The clear bra (www.xpel.com) can be applied to the front-end, headlights, and exterior mirrors, and even comes with a $1,000 paint protection guarantee.

I'll have mine on very soon, as I already have a small ding in my front bumper from a rock.

Lrpba300, I relocated from Colorado Springs to Arlington, TX about eight months ago, and bought my TL-S here.

Anyway, the wife and I are not "digging" Texas, so we're going to relocate again to the Phoenix, Arizona metro area in the next 8 - 11 months. However, I still have a house that I'm renting out in Colorado Springs, and may return in a few years or so.
