Secuity system

I have a 99 tl with 46,000 km. The security system won't arm when using the remote or when locking the doors from the inside. Is there a fuse that could be the cause of my problem( looked in the manual and nothing about security system fuse ). Anyone got some other ideas?

Thanks for your reply. Yes the battery is ok. It locks the door. when used. When I said locking the door from the inside, I mean using the buttom on the door that locks all the doors but with the door open. Then closing the door, in the past this would arm the system.

oh you'll probably have to wait almost a week before you hear from me... my car's going in for both alarm fix and the RECALL fix... they estimated that the car will be in the shop for at least 5 days... time to bust out my bike...

Got my factory alarm finally fixed. it turned out to be a faulty hood latch switch. i actually got really lucky since it was the first thing the techs looked at when i brought it in. the dealer charged me $110 for labor and $50 for the new latch.

i'm getting all of it back since this is getting repaired thru the insurance company.

crappy thing is that this problem is an electrical connection problem. if you had a body work done than something could've gotten disconnected or pinched off during the process. there's no other way of fixing it other than to find that missing connection and re-connect it. and dealers charge an arm and a leg ($110 an hour plus parts). the guys at the dealers told me that some cars took 10+ hours to find the connection problem. that's $1100 just for labor!!!!!!!

yikes... i say you just roll up your sleeves, take the thing apart and track the wires with a DMM.

sorry i can't give a magic answer. good luck and guard your wallet.

Thanks for your reply. No kidding "guard your wallet". $1100 I would say the person got taken to the cleaners.
