Seafoam is great! not only does it clean your engine and helps it run better, this weekend, it helped take off pine tar!! I stepped in some and while driving my flip flop actually stuck to the pedal! It was all over the place, mats, pedals, flip flop, feet. I had some Deep Creap in my trunk and just figured if it can clean carbon, it can clean tar...and it did! took everything right off and even sprayed some on the sole and the tar broke off right away.

wait till you buy Deep Creep-seafoam.
That can has way more room to write things its good for.
Now my air compressor tools are on it, the lawn mower gas......

There are good DIY see gen3 for most concise with pics, and gen2 has CORRECT vac port pics starting at post 147, several pages in
As the gen 3 ziner at a recent meet- who was the demo for seafoam DIY we were filming, his remark- its so easy I can hold my coffee in left hand and can of Deep Creep-(seafoam in spray can dispensor), and still be doing the seafoam application!
If you can add gas to your car- you can do this

acura says starting at 30k miles is good to clean the fuel induction system
For all that say its just a scam- its actually because your friendly helpful govt. added ethanol to the gasoline in ever increasing amounts, now 15%!!! the max acura allows~
Guess what leaves massive combustion byproducts and crud behind!
Its not like the old days of clean gas and dirty living-
we really have to keep ahead of the stuff to maintain performance and economy.

sucked it thru the vac line?
Kris- you are using the main vac NIPPLE port at the TB area correct?-
the one that pulls over 20 inches vac at idle- enough to suck your thumb tight to it~
Even with your transplanted motor it should be a similar setup.
For others- use the main vac port, NOT the old directions of the small vac line that goes to the rear of the manifold. You need the hose with the clamp on it!
Kris- and others -
You really have to try `Deep Creep`- Seafoam in an aerosol spray can- same amount/same price- just in an easy to control button and straw dispensor.
I like making tornados from an inch away from the vac port-
just a dribble of seafoam from the straw.... and you too can make weather!!!!

I seafoarmed once at about 105K. Prior to that, my car was already smooth so that will make little to no better after seafoam even with sparkplugs changed. But for MPG, I noticed of a bit improve and that's what my purpose of seafoarm. Im just about do do it the 2nd time soon and hopefully to get a better MPG.
Seafoam isnot hard to do. The only frustrate time is drive like a crazy with large black smoke on the tail.

1st timers to seafoam should repeat in about 2000 miles- especially if you used the can and hose method before- use Deep Creep spray and it will make a big differance in the results
Some of that cloud of smoke initially was the oils in seafoam reacting to the heat in the cat- thats a good thing, means you are doing a good job of burning off crud.
The carbon residue is a different color smoke and can be seen by fellow ziners following you. Understanding the principle and proper slowwwwww application of seafoam gets max results- a rushed job gets little results
BG44 makes very good products but they are not 100% hi detergent cleaning oils.
Use whatever you prefer- just do something!

For the general ziner-
removing the plastic engine cover to access the main vac port at the Throttle body- you can't get better vac source to use.

I used Wynns. The stuff they use at Honda and I used it on my Integra and TL-S. It made a huge difference. I was getting like 265 a tank and after I used that it went up to 315. Same big difference with my Integra. Just a little over 300 as well.

Yes wynns is the same idea- getting directly to the vac port for the valves and piston tops to get cleaned, and some stuff for the gas tank to clean the injectors.
BG44 is good product as well
Seafoam is unique in being 100% hi detergent oils, and if you get the spray can version- Sold as DEEP CREEP- not only is it easy to wayyyy use for the intake vac method, it lubes door hinges and locks- deices locks, cleans multiple things, penetrating oil,
the can has more room to write its uses discovered over the 60 years since its introduction as a boat oil addative
Its like wd40-- in that you keep finding more uses for it- Deep Creep spray version rocks

1st timers to engine cleaning product use of any brand-
should repeat in 2000 miles, a month or so, that gets the last of the stuff that was hiding
Think of carbon buildup like layers of an onion, you get several layers off and there are still more!!
Do a repeat treatment and then good for a year
What did the stuff from honda cost? and where did it get put in? tank- vac port ??
Seafoam is about 7-8 dollars for 16 oz can or spray
you can find liquid seafoam at wmart for 5 bucks --if you are there anyway
1 deep creep spray and 2 liquids will do an entire treatment plus have a little for the lawnmower gas~ total cost ~$25
