Scale of brake job

i want to change rotors/ front pads myself. i was wondering if anyone could rate this job on a scale for me. i haven't really done anything other than changning air filter/cabin air filter, and an oil change... i hope someone understands what i mean. i just want to see how difficult this would be. i am hopeing to borrow all the tools needed at autozone (i can do that right)? so w/ that said, an oil change is the toughest thing i've done. can someone scale a brake/rotor job for me? i will be doing just the fronts. thanks everyone.

i ordered some rotora slotted online and goign to buy brake pads somewhere else... will the brake pads come w/ everything? grease and lube and whatnot?? or is that separate..?

Not that hard, all you have to do is take the caliper off the braket, switch the pads, unscrew the rotor, put new one on, put caliper back on (may need to compress piston with compressor, only special tool you should really need), then tighten it all up. If you PM me your email address, I can scan the pages from the service manual for you. It would give you a step by step pretty much of how to do it.

will you be able to list some tools for me? will any of these screws need to be torqued, if they do, will the manual have the specific settings for each?

i installed mine and it wasn't too hard. What you'll need is an impact screw driver. For me, that helped out a lot when taking out the screws for the rotors. Besides that everything is pretty simple. Also, you'll need one of those metal hangers to hang up the cailpers when taking it off so that you won't losen brake lines. I hope i was helpful.

I'll email them to you tonight. It will ist all the torque specs for everything you need. You won't need any special tools, just your standard metric wrenches.

on a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being the hardest.....i would personally rate the acura brake job as a 2-3. where a 1 would be changing your stock air filter in my opinion.

all you're really doing is taking the wheel off, unbolting the caliper and lifting it up and then removing the rotor and the bracket in front of it for the brake pads.

you will need a brake spreader (as mentioned before). costs $10 maybe at autozone. it's really not a tough job. if you're apprehensive just have a buddy help you out. things may seem daunting the first time you do them, but once you see how easy it is you won't have a problem.
