Probably not since they are only 3m'ed on the glass.

A friend of mine had his taken a while ago. he just had the strip of tape on the rear window in the am.

True, but I've read of some people using silicone or some other strong adhesive to stick it on.

I used silicon + 3M. No mark on the car, but mark on my heart !

thats dawg, what part of town did it happen? I got my prep to install but haven't had time to actual put it on. Thought about using some urethane adhesive withthe 3M tape...
