S-type question

Total newbie here. I searched all I could but, couldnt find answer. My wife has a 2000 TL and while reading through all the posts I kept hearing about S-type. How do I find out which one I have?

You have a 2000 TL. They dont make Type-S TL's for the 99-01's. The Type-S starts from 02-03. For future reference do a quick search or else it can get real brutal and nasty in here

LOL. I never heard this one before. SEARCH. Anyway, Type-S models weren't introduced until 2002, that sucks. You could have found this info at Consumerguide.com, Type-S is a bad ass car.

All that aside, 99.9% of the time you'd know if you had a Type-S because there's a badge on the car. See:

LOL when I bought mine they had to put one on it b/c someone stole it. But aside from only being made in 02-03, you can also look and tell the seats and wheels are different. (so is the motor, suspension, ect, but some wouldnt know how to look for that)

You know someone with a TL-P thought he would be cool by stickin a Type-S badge on it instead of actually modding it. ha

On the 2nd gen. Type-S, the headrests on the front seats are triangular with a big hole in the center, whereas the non-Type-S ones are square and solid. Very easy to spot even from a distance.

So you have a Jaguar ?

AcuraBuddy nailed it. 02-03 were the first years for the Type-S model in the TL.
However, the 3.2CL had a Type-S model starting in 2001.

Right, S-Type is a Jaguar model. Acura does not have a S-Type, but it has lots of Type-S's.

You funny guys . I am also a member on other boards like jetski's, 4X4's, guns, Lexus etc.. So I completely undestand the flak for posting a seemingly ridiculous question. Sometimes it takes a few numbnut questions to "break-in" in a new board. Thanks for all the replies.. I'm impressed actually with the answers, alot of you really now your stuff. Type S or not my 3.2 hauls butt to me. Just had the tranny replaced at 95,000 mi. along with the timing belt and other reg. stuff. This is probably my favorite car to drive and I mean drive. I probably do 700 mi. a week now. Thanks for the kind words and I will be back with questions, until then I'll just lurk and re-read posts to "catch-up"....

naw, when you read a thread. post something like "uh huh" "thats awesome", some stupid smiley or something completely random and utterly irrelevant. it'll help when u try to sell stuff, and people with more posts are more reliable in general :P
