Did you tighten your gas cap? If you did, then I would assume it's the throtle body or fuel injectors being dirty. How many miles do you have?

I think it might be related to some electronic, like temp sensor. Because I only happens during warm start, never happen during cold start. Do they really have a recall? Or just a TSB? I mentioned to them a month after I got the car, the usual answer, didn't find anything wrong.

Mine did that and cleaning the throtle body fixed it. Just use intake cleaner and follow the directions on the can.

Mine does this occaisionally. Not when I start it, but usually when downshifting as I come to a stop. It shifts hard and the RPMs drop to around 500, then comes back to normal.

I have had this problem for over two years. It's soooo annoying. When I turn my steering wheel, the rpm's rise up again. Anyway, this only happens when the engine is warm. If you figure out what it was, please tell me!

Thanks
rosh

How do you clean a throttle body?

Also, don't forget to update us on whether it worked or not!

Black TL I took the intake hose off at the throttle body and held it aside with a coat hanger to keep it out of the way. Then get a rag and put it under the mouth of the TB to catch dirty fluid. Spray the cleaner into the plate area (butterfly valve) and then wipe everything you can reach with your finger wrapped in a clean cloth. You are removing all the black carbon build up you can. Look in there with a flashlight and keep spraying and cleaning until it is all gone. Idle will be smooth.

Chuckstl, thanks! i will try this this weekend. You say use intake cleaner. Would that work the same as a throttle cleaner (if there is one)?
