rip in my leather

hey guys...need some tips, i have about a 2 inch rip on my driver side leather seat, it looks like a knife just slit through there, not sure how it got there but i need to patch it up...

i went to schucks, and asked if they had any patches, they gave me something that looked the equivalent of duct tape, therefore i said no thank you, and he said thats all he had.

any suggestions/patches out there for us to use to fix a minor slit on leather seats?

thanks.

Take it to an automobile upholsterer. Yes they have them. The best thing that they can do is sew an additional seam across the seat that effectively closes the rip. Not sure what the stitching in your seats looks like or where the rip is, but my other car had a cigarette burn hole(AHOLE friend of a friend) and they sewed a seam across the seat to close the hole. You could never tell unless you looked at both seats and said hey, this one has one more seam than the other.

Either way, it will look better than an ugly bulging patch.

Ahhh...the thrills of being tagged a PostWHORE....

The damn thing kept getting hung up when I hit submit reply, so I used the browser back button and kept hitting submit until I received confirmation of the post. I tried to delete the first two, but I don't have access!

Anyways, the last PW'ing string put me over 100 posts...
