rims got scratched
my friend thought he would do me a favor when he borrowed my car and get is washed but when it went through the car wash the front drivers rim got scratched all the way around on every spoke (18'' konig tantrums). I have to go back tomorrow to talk with the guy, but my friend brought it up right after it came out cause he saw it when walking the car....and no i really doubt it can be buffed out. anyone have this happen to them? i know the guy at the car wash is gonna be an a$$ about it......

Damn, sorry to hear about that. Now are you crazy, I mean, is your friend crazy? I hope your aftermarket rims are not chrome. Because that will cost a lot of $$$ to fix. I have a little scratch on my chrome Giovanna and I found out it cost $250 to re-chrome one rim. Tell your friend to always hand wash a car, especially the TL.

When I had my 18 DAZZ I went to automatic car washes a lot and no problems. I guess it depends on the carwash. The one I go to has like rubber around the wheel rails.
Man, sucks though. I hope it will work out. I was gonna get my scratch fixed and they quoted $150 per rim and didn't matter how many scratches.

I went to the guy today (right before i had my comptech springs and aem intake installed) and he tried to buff it out but it wasn;t happening. I filed a report with the car wash and the insurance people for them will look at it sometime next week. They WILL pay for it. I had these rims for 4 days. They have no warnings anywhere about low profile tires.
THEY drive the car into the wash and the machine takes over. The guy was telling me i scratched it somewhere else because only the front drivers one was scratched. He said that if both rims on that side were scratched then he would pay for it....so words will be excahnged i'm sure when i meet with the insurance guys
On a better note...the springs make the car look awesome (even though they were a ***** to install) and the aem intake sounds great and does add a little kick at mid-high rpms (and it was cake to install). Thanks TIM!!!
Ill be posting pics as soon as possible!

What car wash was this??? I went to a place called 5 corners in Nassau which is a hand car wash, but they still have the metal track in there. It did a number on my aftermarket rims on my Accord since the spoke stuck out past the lip a little. I pointed out the damage to them as soon as I saw the car, and they took care of it and had it fixed. My new S rims obviously stick out a little also so they will never see a car wash ever!!!!
