Cool What is this thing for???

Ok - first time starting a post -

Knowing that everything in my car has a purpose - in the trunk of my car (2001) on the left side is a greyish hook. What the heck is this for as it looks out of place to be doing any good?

I have checked my manual - can not find anything about it. Have asked my dealer - who thought it might be something to do with the cargo net - but we dismissed that as there are many tie downs for the net near it.

Any ideas - or am I wrong and it is for the cargo net?

Thanks - your resident OFOB (old fart on board). Tink

Are you talking about the hook for your cargo net?

So is this for the storage of the net? (As a light might be going off....)

Are you referring to the hook on a string attached to the trunk floor?

If so, it hooks to the underside of the trunk lid, lifting the trunk floor thereby providing easy access to your spare tire.

Nope - I think that one is black. I am referring to the hook on the left side of the trunk - about 2 inches long. Thank.

I know what you're talking about - it's just a hook to hang grocery bags and the like on, for convenience. They have hooks like that in the trunks of Jaguars and other high-end cars. My sales guy confirmed its purpose when he delivered the car to me.
