The results of freeway crap...56k is fine

alrite I was heading to Glendale on the 134 when I hear this loud clunking sound I look at the rearview and i see something black on the floor I thought i ran over a tire..so when i get to school I check the car out and absolutely nothing seems to be wrong as I was heading home i start to hear scrapes as I drive and go pass dips no matter how slow I went on dips it would scratch so thats when I get suspicious, when I get home I check the car again and this is what I find. So what I thought was a tire was probably the fender lining from the car, the funny thing is, is that i didnt see anything on the road when I heard the hit

and there goes my damn tires also..

Did it cut into the tire also? Unless it did, I don't see why you'd have to replace the tire. Sucks about the fender liner though.

Get one from one of the online acura parts stores. You can DIY. Tire looks ok to me. What kind of tires are those? They look nice.

I'm going to guess what happened is your liner was not connected at the front correctly and was rubbing on the tire. You can clearly see how the tire has eaten into the plastic. It probably dropped low enough eventually that it went under the tire and was then ripped off. That would explain the not seeing anything in the road.

Minor damage. Mine was broken like yours, I bought the driver's side fender liner for $32.68 on acuraoemparts.com

Mineine ripped half way out while I was on the highway one day, it was the craziest sound ever. I thought I just lost my transmission. Luckily it was only the drivers side fender liner.

I think Honda/Acura in general are known for this happening. About half of the ones I see coming towards me, the front thing is hanging down. I think the clips just suck that bad.

My front underbumper protector got ripped off somehow and I never even knew it happened. You can't even order that part according to the dealer and all the OEM parts websites. You have to get a whole bumper.

No, thats just the drivers that suck at driving and drive the fronts over parking curbs and rip shit loose. No clip in the world would help that.

Happened to my dads Honda Van. I was driving it one day and went over train tracks then herd something scraping and it was the plastic lining underneath loose. Sucks big time.

This happened to me when I had my TL. The liner was less than $40 and the replacement clips were about $20. It's ridiculous that a dealer want $200 bucks when it took me less than 10 minutes to do this when it happened to me. Good luck with that...
