That happened to me for about a month, and my start wasn't as quik as it used to be. My battery was dying. Check to see if your battery still has any life left. A mechanic shop could check for you. I had my battery checked and was told that it needs to be replaced. I ordered red top optima.

Had this same problem with my 2000 Honda Accord Cpe EXV6. The intial start is fine until you drive out and park your car for several minutes or more. At the second start up, the car will start, but then the rpm will drop below 600. At this time, the car will start shaking and vibrating. This is cause by the regulator or whatever they call it that controls the RPM and keeps it at 600 so the car wont stall or die. Honda had to replace this part for me which cost 3-4k, but luckily my car was under warranty. The part had to be shipped from Japan cause they didnt have this part here. The funny thing is that the service guy said that they (Honda) knew about this problem and my car falls in the range of vin #' with this problem. Good Luck with getting this fixed.

If your starting problem only occurs after the car has been running and is hot ... .... There is a service bulletin for this problem, if your car is under warranty get in fixed now. The cost to get this done is $1000.00 plus. Its a fuel delivery problem, the additives in the fuel during the winter months cause a vapor lock or something. You'll notice it doesnt happen during the summer.
I refuse to fix the problem, the dealer quoted me $1600.00 Canadian Dollars... MF pricks I feel like smashing someones skull when I think about this and the fact the dealer or ACURA wont fix the F'n problem..

Thumpy, I feel your pain.. If I had to cough up the money out of my own pockets, I would not have this fixed either.. Also, the problem was not just in the winter time, it was also in the spring, summer and fall...

any mechanic can fix this if they know what they are looking for. best bet is to bring it back to acura and see what they say. they will plug your car into the computer and run a test to find the problem. honda did not find the problem until the 2nd time i bought my car to them. good luck.
