Replacing headlight bulb...homosexual pin

Is the light bulb suppose to snap in or something before you put the pin back in or does the pin do the job of holding it in place?

I got one of the bulbs replaced, luckily with ease....but the other one, the pin isn't hooking...and I can't see it so I just keep pushing it and hoping it hooks, I think I did that for almost 2 hours. My back hurts...and the pin still isn't in, I just gave up because its too dark outside now...is the bulb suppose to snap in or somehow fit in snug first?

the bulb goes in 1 way, and then the metal arm goes in and goes to the side to latch in the detent- so it bulb held by hand- metal arm in position-- and slide it over and up- done

needle nose pliers are the tool for the job, and a small mirror to see whats inside,,,
before you go randomly poking your tool around some strange dark place~
