removing kit and rims?
I am thinking about going to the sleeper look. What do you guys think? I am thinking of taking off my kit and replacing my 18" rims with 17" typeS rims. I am going to leave the springs and spoiler on. Future mods will be mainly suspension and engine mods.
IMO, the sleeper thing is over-rated. I'd much rather some punk in a Civic or Teg pull up to me and think all I have is a kit and then waste them.
Besides, everyone knows our cars are already fast when they're just stock.

I am planning on headers, res, exhuast, sways, maybe supercharger, and what ever else comes out. I am just debating on wether to get rid of the rims and kit or not. I have been seeing some regular 2002TLs around and it doesn't seem to bad with out the kit and rims. Just a thought.

That'll really get them. Besides, OEM exhaust is good enough.
A sleeper would be a fast car with no kit, rims or any exterior mod. Your car may be fast, but wont you feel stupid if you pulled next to a modded teg and he smokes you while looking fast. Just keep the car looking good and dont worry about being a sleeper. Your car is a four door sedan, thas being a sleeper enough.

Thanks for your opinion guys. I think I am gonna keep as it is for now but continue buying mods, atleast the ones I can afford since I am a poor college student with no job. When the summer rolls I will consider selling the rims and kit towards the purchase of the supercharger if its responably priced and is somewhat reliable with no tranny problems.
2002 SSM TL / factory underbody spoiler / factory style rear spoiler / 35 percent tint / Comptech springs / 18x7.5 Giovanna Corsicas (silver) / Toyo T1-S 225/40-18 / 3 1/2" exhuast tips / shaved 3.2TL / painted Y-pipe / rewired fogs / 9006 Hiper superwhites (fogs) / Polarg hyperwhites front/rear corners / Acura burlwood guage bezel / custom burlwood shift knob / custom blue/red indiglo guages (ordered) / PIAA super plasmas (interior) / blue front/rear indiglo floor lighting / AEM short ram intake / painted valve/battery covers (silver)and your a college student with no job!!!
Count your blessings son, you are very fortunate. Good for you
Not even a part time job?
But yup, keep it the way it is. I sometimes think the no-kit look is nice too, but only sometimes. The car looks sharp either or, IMO.
(I never intended to get it at first, but I'm glad I did. first thing I bought for it after owning the car for about a month)

A sleeper car is one that looks unassumingly stock, but actually has many hidden performance mods. Unknowing challengers may bite off more than they can chew thinking they are racing a stock TL-S, as opposed to one with headers, intake, exhaust, suspension, mods etc. The real potential of the car "sleeps" until provoked.

It seems a better way to go if you're more interested in performance than looks. When you really think about it, though, the TL-P (or, even more so, the TL-S) is a sleeper. A bone-stock TL-P will smoke many of the other competitors in its class, and that makes me happy enough for now.
