No you shouldnt be worried about it. If water gets there you have much bigger issues.

No worries bro. You'll have major issues only if your car gets submerged in water, which rarely ever happens unless you live in a flood area.

If water gets up high enough to get sucked through the stock intake, you're going to have other things to worry about.

wouldn't it be different story if i'm running on the freeway with the water flying as "misty" water...maybe i'm being way too cautious...

In which case the resonator wouldnt stop it either. Plus thats what the splash shields are for, to help keep that out. Moisture is in air. Your car sucks it in when its raining. vapor and small amounts wont hurt it. Its when quantities get sucked into the motor. Water does NOT compress.

Picture your intake tube as a straw.. you would literally have to be sucking the water up like a straw for it to hydrolock.

and if it hydrolocks then you'll be needing a new engine.

just watch out for giant puddles, especially if youre lowered. happened to a friends k24 rsx, not pretty.

I giant puddle wouldnt even do it. You would have to submerge the intake which would be more than a giant puddle. It would be a flooded road or a lake you drove into.

lowered maybe 2in off the ground. with a cai that went really low. and a puyallup sized puddle can do it.

Well for starters the OP does NOT have a intake. He removed the resonator. It wont happen to him.

2nd unless you are driving without the splash shields there is almost NO way for it to happen driving thru a puddle.

This is MORE than a puddle, No issues. Filter was dry

The water has to be as deep as the intake to suck it up
