as many of you must have herd already, the mudguard messes up your paint, well dont doubt it, it does, i had to find out the hard, way. theres now a dark grayish line runnign down where the mudguard used to be.

Wouldn't leaving the guard in place correct that problem?

I took out mine after 1 month. Thanks to god, no paint damaged.

The remaining issue is how I can sell the mudguards to somebody.

REMOVE YOUR FRONT LICENCSE PLATE HOLDER TOO!

I had a scrape the length of my front licencse plate holder on my front bumper. Its due to the fact that the holder is only attached at the bottom; the top simply rubs on your bumper and is not snug against it to start with. Take a look and see what your bumper looks like.

Well its not only rubbing that causes it. Watch where you park. If you parallel park then expect your scratches to be even worse since other cars will push your car. Therefore they will be hitting the plate cover which will rub with force [now] and cause more paint damage.

Well if we are selling used parts, I need to figure out how to sell my moonroof wind deflector.

The dealer has it on the car, but I had them take it off at time of delivery. Now it lives in the trunk.

Maybe this is going above my head, but...

If we have the guards on and there are no problems, why should it matter if there is a little dirt residue behind the guard?

Are we talking about things like premature rust?

Otherwise, if they are going to stay there should be no problem, right?

I waxed it very well before I installed mine and had them on for a few months. WHen I took them off I had that line and thought they were scrathed but the line was just dirt. So it pays to wax before and probably take off once every six months but wash underneath the flap where it touches the paint.

it's harder to clean the dirt on the side if it's removed...especially in winter...it reallie elimates the snow build on the side

I never did put the front license plate holder back on...
However, if I was going to, I would have either put foam tape or GE silicone on the contact point to make it cushiony instead of hard plastic on bumper.

To answer your question yes. I have had my car over 2 & a half years NighthawkBlack 2000TL. I never had any mudguards on the underbody kit will not work with them on. I have had that just about as long as I have had my car. I ordered it when I got the car in 1999. The Bodykit was on back order from the dealer but was installed 3 weeks after I got the car. We did not have this site back then.

In California, you will get a ticket for not having a front license plate. And since having one with the bracket will damage the front bumper (stupid design), I simple turn it upside down and use a couple of tie wraps and tie it to the hole underneath the bumper and in front of the bottom grill part. It actually looks much better. If this is unclear, I will post some pics next week when I get my digicam back from my friend.
