Remove the chrome finish or not?

One of my fogs got water damage and when I drilled a hole and drained/cleaned it I noticed that the chrome finish had been worn away.

So the question is - Should I use some sort of product to totally remove the finish in both fogs or figure out a way to open up the for and repaint it with some chrome paint?

you will not get the light out of those that you need if they are all jacked up like that. You should go on ebay and buy a new one like Artl-s sez

This is actually something I might have to deal with in the near future. One of my fogs is cracked with a lot of condensation inside and I don't know what the condition of the chrome in there is. I'll be removing them and taking a look as soon as my lexan lenses arrive, but in case the chrome is FUBAR'd, there's no real way to fix it?
