Hey whats up all!!!
So I have been wanting to get my dad a remote start for his car for a while now, he has got a 2003 TL, same as mine. Im not sure where to start looking for a good one. So if I could get some ideas on where to look and what to get that would be awesome! Thanks for all the help.

 

I've been thinking about that too. I couldn't turn up much on google other than autotoys.com. I recently bought an iphone interface from them for my wifes odyssey and it turned out okay. Their website sucks though, as its extremely confusing. They have several remote start options listed, but I suspect that some of the less expensive ones are add-ons that require alarm systems to work. Their site doesn't spell it out very well though. I'm going to contact them and find out what the deal is though. I'll let you know...

 

Get a viper/python remote start with a smart start module if you have a smart phone. I have one in my odyssey and I love it.

 

Yeah, the wife just walked up behind me and saw me typing about remote starters and apparently now the odyssey is gonna get a remote start if the Acura does. Great.

 

Please keep us posted. Am interested in pursuing this too - hate during the winters to do a cold start and drive within a minute of idling..

Honda/Acura sells an remote start kit for the MDX (I think the Odyysey too) that uses the same immobilizer setup as the 2g TL/CL and can easily be used in our cars. There's a few things that must be done a little differently BUT I'd call your dealer and ensure the kit is still available. Then before purchasing it, find somebody in your area (dealer or elsewhere) that can not only do the install correctly but also give you a warranty on the work. It would be idea to have the work done by whoever sells you the kit that way the kit (parts) and labor are under warranty by the same place.
