anyone here use Redline ATF?
benifits/drawbacks?
also, where can i order the stuff from?

 

Use only Honda ATF in our cars. Redline themselves recommends using Honda ATF.

 

tuff is correct. i emailed a guy from redline.. and he said that the there is no benefit from using their atf. and actually he recommended not to use it.

 

not really true...if you talk to the redline guys hypethetically they'll tell you there are benefits...they say what they say to avoid liability issues with hondas warranty and hondas exclusive use of an additive called z1 (if my memory serves me)...im told to use a dexronIII type fluid available from redline as well as many others will cause a firmer shift..but you may also experience a shutter i say may as even the honda manual recomends dexronIII in the absence of honda fluid being available,but ,then does go on to say to switch back to honda ...if you're only doing a 2.7 quart fill i dont think there would be any negatives...just my opinion

 

Can anyone report on switching to one of the synthetics (Redline or Mobil 1 ATF)? Also, we should find out what "Z1" is and does. It might be marketing hype, but then again it might be some special additive that the transmission needs.
