I plan on getting my windows tinted, and would like to get recommendations on what tint shop to go to here in the LA area, and what the current street price is.

Also, I have a silver 03 TLs and was thinking about getting the reflective (metallic) tints at about 35-30% rear and 30-20% front. Any words of wisdom from past experiences as to what's good?

i tinted the windows at california tint on rosemead and mission. across from rosemead high school for about 150 to 165. which is average street pricing!

i went to pro tint which is on rosemead also. It was about 150 for 35% mirror tint.

Not sure which part of LA you're in but if you're in the valley give SunShield Tinting a call. Have gotten 3 cars tinted there and they do excellent work. Got 15% all around for $145

A number of folks from the forum had their tints/clearbra done here and from the feedback on the thread, they were very happy with the service provided. I don't know how far this is from you, but you can give him a call and see if he is discounting his prices for Acurazine members. Read through the threads and you can then form your own opinion.

i got my current ride done at song's tint master near k-town. it was a referral from a friend that got two cars tinted there, but more importantly, i wanted my windshield tinted and they knew how. it's right in the 150 area too (without windshield) but may be more depending on shade/brand. good selection of shades. my tinter was han.

the day i got mine done (late 2004?), a silver s class rolled out with a medium shade and slightly graded reflective coating that looked really good. han may have pix if you email him.

For all the suggestions. I go to the Alhambra area a lot, so I may just choose one of the shops that you guys recommended.

Some additional questions though:

1. Do most places warrenty their work? Also, my co-worker told me that the tint shop that he went to will take off the tint and re-tint it (for the price of materials) in the case if you get a ticket because of the tints.

2. Does the tint shop have to add any fabric (or whatever) on the rubber parts of the windows so that the tints won't get scratched (For a 2003 TLs)? If so, how much does this usually cost?

3. When I did the search, there seems to be preference for the makers of the tints like 3M, etc. Do the places you guys recommend use good quality tinits?

A good tint shop will always warranty their work. I would think twice bout goin to a shop that didnt. I got a ticket for my tints last year and my tint shop took off the tint and reapplied it when i came back. Pretty easy. The tint shop I go to uses Lumar Tint.

if you know alhambra, you can also try vicelli's on valley blvd, just west of marguerita (?). another friend of mine has had several cars tinted here. as for the ticket-and-retint issue, i have never asked.
