Recent TL Thieft Wave
Ok guys, I got few questions.
1. I presume that when some mofo is taxing our headlights, the stock alarm doesn't do anything? Right?
2. Is it possible to install an afermarket alarm (with shock sensors, open hood, broken glass) and tie it somehow to stock alarm? I realy don't feel like to walk around with two transmitters?
Last thing. I found that alot of you guys that got your babies violated, live in NJ. Got got me thinking. There is alot of you guys here from NJ. How about this for a scery thing. Perhaps those mofos that steal will eventually put those lights somewhere. If you see punk in rice civic with true HIDs, there you go... Second, maybe they are "non participating" members of this board. They read, look up people and then steal stuff? Hmmm, just thinking outloud.

I have installed an aftermarket alarm and remote starter on my TL and does work together with the manufactury alarm. I am not walking around with two remotes, just one and I have shock sensor as well as all the other cool features. The alarm that I have installed is the two way remote alarm which tells me everything that is going on in the car in real life. It is 5 miles range and if someone touches my car, I know it right away. The only thing you have to keep in mind, if you are going to instal and aftermarket alarm, tell them not to cut any wire, it will reflect on your computer and it may ph*ck up the system.

I got a Viper 550ESP.
Actually the alarm was taken out of the CR-V that we traded for the TL and reinstalled in the TL. I have a friend who has a cell\stereo\video\alarm shop so I am not really sure of cost, plus if I did buy it new from him, I would only pay his cost plus installation...pretty good deal, actually! But, I have had Viper alarms in every car I've owned, and never had any problems.

I had an aftermarket alarm installed which gives me remote start, shock sensor, glass sensor, and siren. It is also integrated with the factory alarm, so I only carry one remote, and when it is armed, it also arms the factory alarm. I happen to think that the most important plus of an aftermarket alarm is a good glass sensor. I can take my keys and lightly touch them against the glass anywhere on the car and it will set it off. The aftermarket shock sensor is also better than the factory shock sensor, since the sensitivity can be adjusted.
