Rear Rotors

Ive got 113,000 miles on original rear rotors, maybe were resurfaced once. when i run my finger across it, i can feel slight grooves; not a smooth surface. My rear brake pads are run down, bout 10% left (2-3mm told by firestone when alignment).

Can I just slap on some wagner brake pads (great deal on slickdeals.net) and continue using the original rear rotors? since i read most of the braking occurs in the front, if i can save a buck I would keep the rotors and just buy some decent brakes pads. the fronts have no issue, they were just replaced one year ago with powerslot rotors and hawk pads. [yes oem rotors in back, slotted in front... the look never bothered me once.]

I'd appreciate any thoughts and input you may have. Thanks!

I would do the same like what you think. just install the pads and go unless it is showing some shaking. in general, you wont feel any slight shaking from the rear.

From: Baja, México.
Since they do 30% Braking in the BIAS I would not worry that much but then again is 30% Of your braking. When they become too thin they could crack and that would be very Bad. Also Heat transfer suffers and they become more prone to Warp.

Dont leave it like that for Long OEM Replacements arent that Expensive.
I would run EBCs or Another good brand when you can Afford it.

new pads will take on the grooves of the rotors instead of making a mated flat surface for max pad contact

go to kragens and get rear rotors and new pads
they are at minimum thickness, which screws with overall brake pedal pressure and caliper operation
they also send vibrations thru the system--fixed and it will be smoother
Brakes are where you dont scrimp!!
decent parts are fine,,dont need max brakes on rear of TL
