Hey, alright so the rear corner bulbs are 1156 which is what i bought (chrome silverstars) and i go to put them in and it wont fit....The stock bulbs have these two nubs on the base (for the twist into the socket) the new ones do to but here is the problem... On the new ones they are evenly on both sides. Hard to explain but they are even through the middle of the base. THe stock ones though the nubs are a little closer to eachother towards the top.. The holes on the socket are obviously closer as well but this makes it so I can not plug the new bulbs in...i went back to autozone to ask and see if they knew and no one really had any info on it....wondering if anyone has heard of this and would be able to help me out???

 

On my 01 TL the rear corner bulbs- I am guessing you mean the turn signal/running light bulb, were a special bulb that was 6 bucks for 2 pack.

Not the normal 1156 bulbs we are familier with for older cars.

Try another parts store and see what bulbs they say you need.
DO NOT try to force the wrong parts to work1

 

......your problem is that they are........1156A ....if it doesn't have the "A" they won't fit......

 

i forgot to include that..ive tried the 1156a and the 1156ast

 

then check the bulbs again something doesn't sound right........if you the 1156A they should fit with out a problem..........

 

Thats what i thought...ive tried it a handfull of times....did you change yours? and it worked fine? the car is at the dealer now getting a new tranny..i might just ask them when i go to get the car out....are you from boston gonna be at the meet on the 11th?

 

well i have amber silver stars.........and they fit fine......hey if they are willing to check out your car for free at the dealer why not..........and i'm from miami.......

 

I Had The Same Prob I Jus Had To Play With Em For A Bit

 

Quickest solution is to file down one of the nubs so you can get the bulb into the scoket. Had the same problem so I did it on mine and have had no problems.

 

sweet deal. When i get my car back (new tranny being put in) I will do that. I figure the nubs are just to hold it in place not so much for anything else...
