Rear Acura Emblem

Hey all. I just got a whole bunch of stuff comped by the dealer, one of those things is a chrome "A" from a 2002 TL. My question, the one I got has two prongs on the back, while from what I've read the 2000 one only has one. Can anyone confirm this, or is it possible they gave me a different year? Right now my car looks odd with a chrome front and gold "A" on the back...

Isn't there anyone who can help? I know it hasn't been all that long since I asked, but I would love to get the new emblem on tomorrow provided it's the right one!

Ok, sorry to revive this thread, but I had something come to mind today after looking at a picture I took. I did end up putting on the larger emblem I got from Mile High Acura a few months back, part number 75701-SZ3-A20, which as it turns out from searching says it's from the 02-03 TL and the 02-04 RL, though the prongs in the back didn't begin to line up correctly with the ones in my trunk. My question is, did they give me the wrong damn thing? My friends car is an 02 TL, and his emblem looks a lot bigger than mine, keep in mind in the picture I am parked more or less a foot in front of where he is.

i think yours looks fine. definitely the same size, just the angle of the image and the shaved rear makes your emblems looks smaller. nice clean car!

The one on the TL-S looks slightly bigger than yours. There's not enough of an angle to affect visual perception between the two. Personally, I like the slightly smaller one better since I also have a 2K TL. It seems like just the right size to me.

I thought the original 99-01 emblem looked way too small with the rest of the trunk debadged, so I went out and got a new one (for free, after the sales manager called me an asshole), because I personally think the bigger emblem looks much better. I'm confused. The TL part number would have SOK would it not?

In regards to the part number, I believe so. I didn't pay attention before but if you're debadged, then yeah the bigger A emblem would look better. If you're not debadged (like me), then the smaller one's just fine.

The one you got is probably the 02-03 models and they're bigger than the 99-01 models.

Just one question, how do you take off this A emblem? Do you have to remove the inner carpet behind the trunk cover to get to the prongs?

You use the same dental floss/goo gone method as the others, and once you get all of the adhesive off you can just start to wiggle it out, it should pop right out.

Awesome. I thought I'd have to remove the trunk lining to get it off. I was gonna paint mine too.

Glad I could be of help! It really is pretty simple, you just have to make sure you can get the floss in all the way around to make sure you have the adhesive off.

I promise you the "A" is held in by two little prongs, or something of the sort. There are also two white pieces of plastic which secure it into the trunk so it doesn't fall out or something. If you use dental floss it should pull right out. I'm not trying to bullshit anyone or anything.

3M double sided tape, or if you want to go get a larger 02-03 one, they are like $20 at the dealership and already have the adhesive.
