Really stupid kill

I'm driving on the freeway tonight and I see this car weaving in and out of traffic behind me. Well, he catches up with me and I see it's a Ford Focus LX - not even a ZX3 or SVT or whatever the "special" one is supposed to be. I don't pay a lot of attention to him, and I'm just cruising along doing 70, casually weaving in and out of the light traffic.

Well, I noticed that he was following me as I made my way through traffic, and he starts riding my a$$. At first I don't mind it much, but he keeps riding right on my tail for like a mile. So, I put it in SS, drop it to 3rd and I go from 70 to 85 in a flash and leave him in my dust. I figure he got the message, so I settle down again and I'm going about 75.

Well, a minute later, he's right next to me and I hear him step on it and he starts to pull ahead briefly. By this time I'm really annoyed, so I just floor it and shoot up to about 90 and just leave him standing. He didn't even try to get near me after that.

What that hell is wrong with people. A Ford Focus? Normally I wouldn't even bother, but he was just really being annoying.

Mikester,

We know what you mean. Some people got marbles for brains and dont mind making a fool of themselves. Had a similar thing happen to me once...one of those thin weak corolla type "S" revving his toy car at the light and looking at me, i just look at him, laugh and shake my head......

Those focus cars can be fast though. Watch out for supercharged ones.

That happens to me ALL the time. I had a mid-80s GTI try to take me off the line from a stoplight once. Another guy in a 94-95 4 cyl Accord. And countless other rust-buckets and old 4 bangers.

I know the ZX3 is supposed to be faster. And I think they make an SVT Focus, and those SVT models are usually higher performace. Still, I have a hard time believing even a supercharged Focus could hang with a TLS.

Properly fixed up, a Focus can be a pretty good rally or road course car; what it lacks in power, can be made up in maneuverability.

Anybody can punch the gas on an open, straight road, but a better challenge is to see how well one can drive on a road course.

Wink who knows

I agree with tdoh. any one can jsut punch their car and burn the crao outtatheir engine but when you are in traffic and RACINg at the asme time thats when you are REALLY racing. the big challenge is to drive safe for your own sake and the sake of other people but that the fun part. see ho much balls you have weaving in and out of traffic. watch out jsut dont hit nuttin. Ford focus are potential SPEEDY cars. they are like the hatch back nd the crx's that kick A$$ at the races. I seen a crx beat a corvette so dont undefestimate. but thats at the races. littl cars like the ones listed above are light and cheap. all their fixparts are cheap as hell. they are not high end like out cars. Bu i am sure that focus had nuttin on you.
