Post Radio / Navigation codes?

I just got the pulleys installed (they suck and I don't feel any differences). The shop says that they had to disconnect the negative battery terminal to do it. Now i need the radio and navigation codes.

first, does anyone know if these two codes are the same? How many digits are each?

second, if i can't find my papers, how do i fix it?

thanks

The pulleys suck. Makes me not want to get them now. The car was supposed to come with codes for your radio and navi. I bought mine used and they didn't have the codes so they had to get the serial numbers of the radio and the navi. That way they could get the security code numbers for me. Take it to the dealer and have them do that for you. What's the 1-800 number all about? Never heard of it.

the code comes on a little plastic card. for my car it was hand written. however when i got my pulleys put on the damn code didnt help a bit because i had to get a new radio put in when the cd player on my old one died. they had to go in and look at the back of the cd player to get the serial number then look it up in the computer. what a pain.

Your going to have to pull the radio and get the serial number off the back of it, Make sure you write it down as it is, don't mistake a 8 for a B as I did and had to take the radio out again.

First try looking in your little leather book. It is a plastic card with a series of numbers on it.......

As some have suggested, there should be a plastic card in the glovebox or console that will have your radio/navi codes. If you can't locate it, call the dealer where you purchased the car. They should retain that information for every new vehicle sold. If the dealer didn't log the information, you will need the serial # for both units. Hopefully your dealer placed the small serial # sticker somewhere in your glovebox (small white sticker). If not, the navi will need to be removed. As for the radio, it depends on what year your car is. For 2001 and earlier, the radio must be removed. For 2002 you can access the serial # on the radio display. Follow these steps:

1. Turn the ignition switch to the accessory position.

2. Turn on the audio unit. Made sure "CODE" appears.

3. Turn off the audio unit.

4. Press and hold the #1 and #6 preset buttons at the same time, and then turn on the unit. The serial # will appear in 2 parts - the first 4 digits followed by the last 4 digits.

5. Call your dealer and ask for the radio code.

Look under your cup holder, some dealers put a sticker under one of the cup holders w/ both navi and radio.

Check throughout the pouch. I originally thought I only had the radio codes. They were in one of the business card holder pouches. Only when I searched through all of the pockets did I find the little plastic bag with the NAVI screen cleaner.

slammed99TL is correct. The NAVI code is four digits and the radio is five
