No my V1 is oldschool man. It only detects laser from the front lol. Alot of cops still use radar so it's still doin it's job lol.

I think it would cost me over $200 bucks for an upgrade if I send mine in. A friend actually gave me mine for free a long time ago so he didn't have the mounts...I had to go buy sticky velcrow tape and set it on top of my dash. Works great.

I think I know what you're talking about - the "ringing" is for laser. My unit started doing that a few years ago. I called them and they said interference or something and
to send it in and they would put some shielding or something in the unit. It was out of warranty and I didn't want to be without it for a month so I just shut off the laser and have driven that way since. Not a lot of laser in my area so no big deal.

Just wanted to mention that it is best to buy these things from an authorized dealer than trying to save a few bucks on e-bay. If you buy from an authorized dealer and have problems with false alarms, you can always send it back to the manafacturer for upgraded firm ware. IMHO I think that it would be worth the extra 100- for the 9500. There is the extra cool factor that the unit has similar to XM and DVD audio that the TL comes with. BTW I did mean the Solo in my previous post. I have the 8500 X50 with the blue display.
