Radar Detectors?

Im looking for a new radar detector and cant figure out which one to get the Passport 8500 or the Valentine One? both seem good, and each has something better than the other. I just need some suggestions.

Highly debated topic....you might even get flames for posting this....everyone is gonna tell you to do a search.....as for me...ill tell ya to get the valentine one...i have it....works great....i guess it all comesdown to whether u really need the directional arrows or not...otherwise they are both great radars....valentine just costs more for the arrow thingy.....thats just my .02 cents...

I've got a V1 and love it, especially the arrows. The arrows are worth the extra money, trust me.

Some magazines compare the Passport 8500 to the V1 and they say that the P8500 has more features than the V1. Take a look at Autoweek.

I think they are about the same. I have P8500. You are better off doing a search

They are both great. I think you'll be happy (and protected) with either. It is one of those situations where one product has some features the other does not and it makes you wonder "is the other better?" Probably not that much better, just different. I have the V1 because of the arrows and concealed display.

hahaha no not at the same time. I had a Passport 8500 for the Yukon and decided I wanted one for the other cars too. So now I got on for the Yukon and dont have to take it out to drive another car on a trip.

Go with the V1. I got my first V1 about 6 years ago. Tested the Passport just before I upgraded to my new V1 about a year ago. There is no comparison . V1 provides much greater range than the Passport in city and hi-way driving. Despite what Passport says, the arrows are a must

K40

You might also want to check out K40 ... you can install the receivers in your bumpers and taillights and have indicators (both aural and visual) on the inside, in the form of LEDs or audible signals through the speakers. The advantage is that the radar detection system is not visible. Check it out,
