has anyone heard about this radar detector Mini-D312? I saw it on ebay and they say it's better than the passport 8500. what are your guys opions?

 

don't even waste your time or money on anything except the Valentine One radar...the best $400 bucks you will ever spend..any valentine one owner will tell you the same

 

go with the 8500. i like my 8500 a lot better than my v1

Ok first of all it has never been proven to be better.. It just has extra features, but looks a lot gayer and smaller.. it has LED Bulbs for Alert Info, thats old Style... Plus its a lot smaller, and just cuz it has more features doesnt mean anything.. We might claim our TL is faster than a BMW 330i just because of HP Features, but we all know its the performance and facts that really show the RESULTS..

 

i have a valentine 1, for about 2 months now. the thing is its awesome but i hadnt had one time where it detects a cop. every single time it beeps or makes a noise i never see a cop.

it beeps and theres nobody around. i know it detects alot of other signals too but this is ridiculous, i feel like i am detecting garage openers and microwaves.

man the 400 bucks i think i want my money back.

 

I have the 8500 and I love it, its saved me a lot of money in tickets and my license once or twice, and its also really nice that my girl got it for me last x-mas.

 

asloud, there are three modes in the V1 radar, all bogeys "A", logic mode "lower case L", and advanced logic mode "capital L"..you are probably running it in "A" mode which beeps for everything it detects..I run mine in advanced logic mode and I rarely get false beeps..But if you read the manual, the V1 has a precautionary feature built in that makes the radar beep if the signal is strong enough no matter what mode your in just incase...trust me man, you don't want your money back, maybe just get more familiar with the radar and use it to it's fullest potential.. spend some time reading the manual, you'll find lots of great info and pointers.

 

Damn I need to get a V1. Does anyone know where I can get a good price for it?

 

Snapple - there is only one price for the V1 I'm not exactly know how much but somewhere in the $400 range unless you get a used one.

I will stick with Escort. I have a 7500 that I've had for a while now and it has saved me many times over. Escort is coming out with new radar detectors. I think im going to get the new Solo S2. Which is suppose to be alot better than the 8500.
