How come nobody posts any races in the tl-p forum anymore? The Type S forum always has one or two. I know you guys are real strict about that stuff and how its dangerous, but its nice to read once in awhile other people's victories.

 

yeah. this stock civic ex pulls up next to me. female driver, so I KNOW she's gonna gun it! so the minute the light turns green, I leave her in the dust. Yeah!!!

Heheh... anyways. I don't like racing all that much. If I had a weekend car, then I might just as well push it. But this is my daily driver so I want to keep it running and no, I didn't lease it. Besides, with our tranny.... well, you get the picture.

 

Well... I don't have an exciting victory story but...

I pulled up next to an Audi A4 sportwagon at a light and when the light turned green the A4 took off screaming so I punched it but it was too late, cause he already had about 1.5 car lengths on me and there was a slower car in front of me.

Anyway a few more stop lights later we end up at the line next to each other again, and this happens to be the last traffic light on the road before it turns into a freeway. I should've known he was going to race me again but I was pretty tired (coming back from the airport 11pm ish after a weekend in LA) and plus he wasn't revving or anything.
So the light turns green again and he takes off and I punch it after he already has a car length on me. By this time I was a little annoyed so I kept on and wouldn't ya know it, I made up a half a car length when he shifted into 2nd and was almost even by the time he shifted again. So I started to pull away and didn't look back until I was doing... well uhhh (any cops on this board?) 3-digit speed. (but there were no cars around on a 3-lane highway and I was in total control, officer!!!)
Anyway, there's a slight bend in the highway and I couldn't see him in my mirrors anywhere.

I'm embarrased because it was a wagon and I let him get a jump on me like that. :o

As for the A4 I couldn't tell if it was the 6-cyl or the 4 turbo.

Well I usually race a lot but because of the recent #s of race-related accidents, I decided to stop.
FYI, I only race either late at night or when there is no traffic around.
I will start posting racing stories again as soon as things quiet down after what our country is going through right now.

 

I don't do races anymore...since I've gotten rid of my Legend...the TL sucks balls at corning...

 

Thanks for the stories guys...it is just that it gets boring in here sometimes.

Maybe your TL but my TL doesn't suck balls at cornering...

 

My TL does'nt suck balls while cornering. It sings and it goes like this..
S-q-u-e-e-l...slow down, slow down. My stock tires cant take it. S-q-u-e-e-l..S-q-u-e-e-l (repeat verse 1)

 

I know exactly what you're talking about....with the stock tires and suspension, I can easily get my car into a 4-tire squeal. My uncle has a 2000 S500 and the car already has 40,000+ km, so he had to change the tires.....he got the same tires that come on the TL's and my cousin always complains about how bad they squeal.
