Raced a MB CL500...look inside for details :)
I'm not gonna get into a lot of detail, but bottom line is we raced off the line. I had the car ready for gate shifting, VSA and A/C off, and I peeled off the line. I had him by about 1/2 a car off the line, then he pulled ahead by about 1/2 a car, and it stayed that way up to about 120 km/h. When I shifted into 3rd I started to inch up on him again, but then his car came alive and he passed me again at about 170 km/h (of course when I shifted to 4th, damn TL's have no power in 4th).....he beat me overall by about 3/4 of a car...
I thought the CL500 would have raped me...aren't they fast cars??? I checked the specs, and MB states that 0-60 on those are 6.1...I guess not as fast as I thought.

yeah they are pretty quick, i dont know theyre dynamicz though. but if u went up againts a CL55, i dont think there would be a contest. but sounds like a good race nonetheless.

the benz is too heavy.........i can beat my friends clk430 in the 1/4 but the gearing is funny like that....after about a 100 the tl falls off and the benz wakes up.

technically both of the cars (mercedes and TL) have the same 0-60 time, it does seem scary racing a mercedes with big numbers hehe...

nah.... I drove an 03 SL500 all summer basically, and I had problems after problems with that thing. The roof was squeaking really badly, and I took it in, and they gave me a friggin FORD TAURUS as a loaner. I was PISSED! Check engine lights kept coming on, new O2 sensor, radio shorted out, had a new one of those put in.... what a POS. I was over that car... and will never buy one again. Oh, and just so you know, I work at a used car dealership part time as an Auction Specialist, and thats why I had that car... not like I have 100 grand to go blow on a car!!!
