Quick Question..

I'm having my windown trim(black plastic)changed by my dealer, the paint is bubbling. They told me I would have to leave the car for most of the day. Here is my question: When does Acura Issue you a loaner? I know they offer shuttle service, but do you have to ask for a loaner or are they only given when serious repairs are made to your car? My car is still under the 4yr/50k new car warranty. Thanks

My warranty is good 'till July of this year, are there any other things I should be aware of to get fix before my warranty expires?

Usually loaners are first come first serve, paying customers first

The are provided at the dealers expense and option.

And if you have a real issue needing to be somewhere- dont take your car in on Friday like everyone else looking for a new car for the weekend!

Are you talking about the CF strip on the doors? If that's covered under warranty I am def. going to take my car in.

Are you talking about the strips between the windows on the doors? If that's covered under warranty I am def. going to take my car in.

Just to add to what the other poster already said, I noticed that your car will be handled in one day. You might find the priority for loaner cars is when you'll need service for more than a day. At two dealerships I went to, the loaner policy was in writing, and basically leaves it up to their discretion. If you want to push it, you might ask to speak with the service manager, but for a one-day fix, it's probably not worth your time.

Is the window bubbling only covered under the 50k warranty? I have that problem but have closer to 70k miles on it. I would love to get it changed if I could.

Thats what they do, especially if you live in high summer heat areas.

My car was fine until last years heatwave then the wrinkles appeared

You can fix it yourself - requires removal of several parts and some
creativity
Some members have put "carbon fiber" tape on or repainted

I have the exact same problem. Would they cover it if I am over the 50k?

loaner

Cool, just got back from Acura and they gave me this:

Cool Car, but NO TL!! Inside is kinda simple and basic. Starting to like the XM. Acura Guy told me, "If we take longer, you can keep it for the weekend"

Do not fix this yourself, Acura knows about these problems and they will fix it for you. I have the same problem and in my case, they painted all the panels that use the tape.

As far as the loaner it depends on the dealer but in my case, even for a day, I can get a loaner. It's all in how good rep you have with them and the kind of problem involved.
