QUICK HELP on tints!!

Hi, I just set up a tint appointment for tomorrow at 8 AM and I just need a few opinions. As of right now, I am getting 21% all the way around my car. The only problem is that I live in NY and I am still only 16 so I can't really afford to get pulled over and have my insurance shoot up to more than it already is. The only other options that they had were 36% and 51%. I was thinking about switching it to 36% on the front and back windows, and 21% on the back windshield, but I'm just not sure if that will be dark enough. I'm just really unsure if the 21% all the way around will be extremely dark and stand out enough to get pulled over. Any help would be great. Thanks in advance!!!

the 20% that i have seen is pretty dark. def looks good, but may draw some unwanted attention. also, the interior color of the car will change how dark the tints appear as well. do a search and you will find pics of each

I have the parchment interior so my interior is very light.

Any other insights on this...will I be safe with a 21% tint? Is 36% too light? I was going for the semi-dark look so I'm still unsure.

I have 20% Front/Rear windows - 5% Rear windshield and my Parchament interior has no affect on the tints. Looks dark...period.

.. but if you don't want to get hassled by your local cops, I would suggest you tint your front windows a shade of 35%.

Ok, I think I am going to go with the 36% on the front and back windows and the 21% on the rear window. Personally, I think that having the front and back door windows different tints looks out of place. Also, would there be any way for me to make the 36% darker later on if I think it is too light?

In VA the law is 50% fronts, 35% rears/rear windshield ... I got 35% all around and I never get hassled by cops. I have a parchment interior too though so 35% looks fairly light. You can definitely tell I have tints though.

Pics of my tint:

It looks even darker when its not as sunny out:

Definitely not as good looking as 21% or lower, but I don't get hassled .
