Question for Brake & Rotor pro's.
Question for Brake & Rotor pro's.
Ok, situation is like this. My rotors keep getting warped (stock) so I'm gonna buy new rotors but my pads are fairly new. Do I need to buy new pads? Will those pads mess up my new rotors.
You can run old pads on new rotors, but why on earth would you want to???
If you are going to the trouble to put new aftermarket rotors on your car, you are going to have the pads off anyway, so you may as well put on some fresh ones. Even if you go with stock pads you may as well put new ones on while you have the brakes apart, that way you'll get more miles down the road before you have to mess with it again. The expense isn't in the pads, its the effort to jack the car up and slap them on.

Well it's not that big of a deal to do the work for me... I just don't wanna spend money buying new pads if not needed... My pads are like 2 months old on my car. I wanna make sure that those pads won't mess up new rotors.
if your rotors arent groved and you dont have aton of miles on the pads you should be able to use them. if you look at the pads (off the car) and they have any uneven wear dont reuse them. if they are in prefect shape reuse them
