Red face Question?

What the hell is that little black screen for beside the Gear selector, on the RPM gauge, to the right, the owners manual shows and "8" but dosen't say what it means, can someone answer this, I just got this car... so I'm a little lost... someone help me out? Thanks Folks...

Question Question?

What the hell is that little screen for on the RPM gauge, beside the gear indicators... tiny little black screen, (RPM GAUGE) just got the car, i'm clueless....

It shows your gear selection when you use the "manual" setting.

That's the countdown display that ticks down from 9 to 0 when the car goes into "Self Destruct Mode".

uhh...
it turns on and tells you what gear your in when you are in sportshift. im guessing you havent used that yet.

when you are in drive, shift in to the left where the + - sign is. when you do that, look at the display and it will show a number, that is what gear you are on.

Trip Tronic Mode, push the shifter to the left when you are in D4 or D5 ( Depending on what yar TL you have ), and the car basically becomes a clutch less manual.

Its handy in certain weather conditions to use SS. The whole system is computer controlled- you cant do an overrev downshift- and the control signal originator thingy is a set of microswitches under the shifter
Be very careful not to spill any liquids in the shifter area or drink holder- bad news

here is the free owner manual so you can learn all the tricks of the TL, like how the seat heat actually works. Enjoy!
