Pulling sensation in High rpms

Does anyone get this feeling when they floor it? Its when the car downshift and goes into vtec. The car will be pulling pretty good when you start to feel it get much stronger as the revs go higher. It feels almost like a boost. I know its not vtec since its already engaged. Just feels weird, like a spike in the powerband. Could it be my car isnt in tune? Should it be a smooth power delivery?

You need to understand VTEC and what it does and how it correlates to how the motor works. What your feeling is the motor coming into its peak powerband due to the different cam settings.

I love the sound, and feeling after 5k. Before the CAI I didn't notice it as much. It's very pronounced now.
