Pulleys...Alternator Question?

Does anyone know if I can still get UR pulleys for better performance after I already got a higher output alternator? I have 2 500 watt mono amps, 1 350 multi channel amp, 2 12" subs, 2 1 farad capacitors, and a tv. (I know it's a ton of extra weight)

K, I just got off the phone with BESCO (battery electric specialist company), they are the ones who installed the higher output alternator, and they said by changing one pulley would alter the output, and the alternator would have a lower charge, possibly no charge when idling and when driving, because the alternator is "sensitive." They recommended that I not install the pulleys. Anyone have any feedback?

UR has a stock sized light weight pulley. That will work just fine.

You can run the stock size diameter pully in the lightweight version
It will help the engine rev faster and not have issue with your amps
contact UR direct for the makers answer

Well you want to be careful with high output alts. I would listen to the person who installed the alternator as far as thats concerned. High output alts usually don't have much output at idle in the first place and you don't want to decrease that further. And honestly not sure why you installed a high output alt. I run more power then that and have little to no dimming even when cranking.

Yes thats true with under drive pullies, but with a stock sized light weight pully you wont have a issue

I had a stereo in my 98 accord, and it made the lights dim when it was on, so I installed a higher alt on it and it fixed it. The stereo shop that installed everything, Tweeter, recommended the higher alt. My gauge lights dim sometimes when I'm idling and the bass on, like when I'm stopped at a redlight and keep the stereo loud. If I install the UR pulleys that are the stock diameter, would I see ANY gain? Would it be worth spending the money?

The stock size pulley is just that, the same size as the sstock pulley. However b/c it is about 7-8 lbs lighter than the OEM pulley it allows the engine to rev out more quickly. It is lighter weight and therefore frees up some HP.

PM me if you need one or look here:
