Post Problems

Group,

I just received the window recall but do not notice a window problem. I do see a problem in two other areas though.

1. The remote trunk release is very weak, It will only unlock the rear lid from 1 ft or less and only if I am aiming it at the center of the lid.

2. The power passender seat only moves front to back, no height adjustment like the driver seat.

Anyone experience similar results

99TL here and the Remote Trunk release is a pain in the ass! You have to right up on your trunk and pressing the trunk release button with a good amoung of force, for it to pop. My remote has always been this way since the start and not due to a low battery.

I have seen other cars, that you just hit the trunk release on the remote and it pop open so easily. Truly one touch.

Try holding the button until the trunk pops open. I was having the same problem because I would touch the button and let go right away. The same with the tripometer reset button. You need to actually hold the button down until it resets itself. It's not just a quick one second touch - - try it! Otherwise, my trunk opens fine wherever I aim at it.

The passenger seat is not designed to be raised and lowered. It is only a 6 way seat, not 8-way like the drivers seat.

I know that Accord Ex has a power seat only for driver. I think the rationale for both Accord and Acura is one of cost-saving. Every nice feature adds up. I think they are not unreasonable.

You have to hold down the "Trunk Release" button in order to pop it open. It's a safety feature that eliminates the chance of pop open the trunk accidentally. Hold it down 'til Trunk pops....

I can always pop up the trunk 3-4 car away...

I was curious and tried my trunk release after reading the initial post. I paced out 100' and it worked everytime from that distance, without even aining it at the car. I didn't bother going any further.

Here's a trick that may help people get distance out of their remote. Try holding the remote to your chin then press the trunk release or the unlock/lock button. You see holding the remote to your chin makes your body act like an antenna increasing distance.
Give it a try it works.

The trunk release on the remote was done on purpose. You have to hold it for about 3 to 4 seconds. This was done in case you acidentally press the buttom and left the trunk open. They didn't do this on the lock/unlock of the doors, because if you acidentally press it if you don't open the door it will lock after about 30 seconds. Something that you can't do on the TL trunk.
